CACTI! (and frogs and restrooms)

so...i was told that i don't post enough (which is true). So its time to get my lazy ass off the couch and onto the inter-web!!!

We went to LA a few weeks ago for the Tee Pee Records Manifest Destiny Festival- which was of course, beyond awesome. 9 straight hours of sludge, drone, drudge, mush, mind-melt, fuzz, mess, slow growing mold, and of course HEAD BANGING.....haha and of course the all powerful Obama was watching over it all (literally there was a huge cardboard cut-out of Obama in one of the stage wings- watching over the whole spectacle)

anyway- we also got to see nature..and i took lots of pictures of cacti.
We love cacti! we even have our own cacti in our rooms (Tiff you should take a picture of the hairy one and post it!)

A shroud of magickness

fo, deb and i went to a friend's show on saturday in williamsburg and then decided to go wandering down by brooklyn heights and the promenade. i'm not really a picture taker so here are the few i did take when i felt like it.

it was a strange surreal night with the foggy weather on friday - the river, the lights, the cobblestones, old brick buildings, absurdly quiet streets and a hazy sequence of events involving bear sculptures, naked ghosts and secret buildings housing secret doors leading to secret places...

That party that didn't happen

We made a flyer for the black angels / warlocks after-party a friend put together that for some reason didn't happen, but here it is anyways...



I caught the warlocks at mercury lounge the evening before with a really excited group of fans. I had no idea the mustache drummer and the bassist weren't in the band anymore. Anyway, the show was alright and I was just excited to see them at mercury after such a long time. Bobby just seemed really happy to be playing in the city. They definitely gave a much better show at southpaw the following night though. The lighting was better, the sound was louder and they ended with moving mountains!!! Bobby is my new hero with his brian jones haircut!
